02 / California context

California is making responsible AI practice explicit.

The State Bar’s 2026 guidance emphasizes professional judgment, review of AI-assisted work, confidentiality, and meaningful supervision of agentic tools. Newly enacted SB 574 adds statutory requirements for attorney AI use beginning in 2027, including disclosure for covered court submissions. The operational challenge is carrying applicable duties into the firm’s actual tools and workflows.

Wild Eye AI helps translate the firm’s legal interpretation into technical and operational controls. Firm counsel remains responsible for legal conclusions, professional policies, and disclosure language.
